The developers of the open platform Ouya, who collected
about $ 5 million on Kickstarter (with the requested million), have in fact just begun to warm up with money and continue to search for funds outside the crowdfunding platform, says project director Julie Urman.

“This is a really big deal and it will be expensive,” she said. "We are looking for additional funds, but more importantly, we are looking for them separately from Kickstarter."
')
Urman is also grateful to Kickstarter for the necessary support from both players and developers who are ready to give content to the console. "This is incredible support, in which players have expressed their enthusiasm for what we are doing in dollars. And their number shows the state of the market." She also added that she hopes to return the game to the TV, as recently there has been a departure from gaming consoles to mobile gaming platforms.
"Developers and gamers turned their attention from TV to mobile platforms. Players realized that software and hardware are very expensive, and developers realize that it is very difficult and expensive to bring games into living rooms."
Ouya is
described as a $ 99 game console on Android. One of the main ideas of Ouya will be openness - built to be hacked - the whole concept is based on the fact that in general this is actually a developer kit that every user can learn and use to create peripherals, create their own applications, arbitrary modifications, etc. P.
Competitors, however, are not happy to look at its prospects. The head of Tiswaz Entertainent, for example, stated literally the following:
- It will not go on sale. It just will not. Developing such a thing is very expensive. Four million dollars is nothing. They need to pay manufacturers. They need to pay designers. They need to bring it to the market. This is a business. And 4 million dollars in it is nothing.
What happens if there is not enough money to develop a console? And this, as they say, is already a good question.
