Browser Definition

I stumbled upon a note the other day about how you can use JavaScript and HTML to determine in which particular browser the page was opened. And I was a little puzzled by the usefulness of such and similar solutions.

Of course, I mean solutions based on all kinds of hacks and tricks, weaknesses and errors of various browsers. Yes, now they are well performing their task, but there may come a time when developers will patch up one small hole, and something more “global” will still work clumsily. And then what? Sites "collapse", and a new solution at that time may not exist ...

In this regard, I have a question: is it really necessary for some ryushechek (this may be some ajax-chips or something else, but browser-dependent) to fuck yourself on the fifth point, even if they are potential, but Problems?

Of course, every developer / designer / start-up person / etc will respond to it in his own way, but personally I will notice something for myself “in the fields”.
