Russian-language Wikipedia is preparing to strike

Tomorrow, on July 10, 2012, the already discussed bill No. 89417-6 is to be discussed by State Duma deputies in the second reading. Accepting these norms directly threatens many peaceful and useful resources, including Wikipedia . And tomorrow, probably, anyone who turns to the Russian-language section of this electronic encyclopedia instead of the expected information will see the text of the petition, compiled by the editors.

This afternoon, July 9, 2012, a survey was initiated among the registered editors of ru.wikipedia, which should end at half past eleven. Judging by the dynamics of the discussion, the initiative to redirect from the pages of the project to a special informational message from 00:00 Tuesday to 00:00 Wednesday will be supported by the community.

In a similar way, the English-language Wikipedia in January and the Italian section in October last year drew attention to the issues of censorship in the network.
