Microsoft to Acquire Perceptive Pixel Inc.

REDMOND, Wash., And NEW YORK - July 9, 2012 - Microsoft Corp. and Perceptive Pixel Inc. (PPI) today will be one of the most significant and most importantly, multi-touch display solutions.
"The acquisition of PPI allows us to draw on our complementary strengths, and we are excited to accelerate this market evolution," said Kurt DelBene, president, Office Division for Microsoft. "It will be a powerful Windows touch screen."
Founded in 2006 by Jaff Hannin, a multi-touch technology, PPI shipped in 2008. In 2008 US presidential election. In 2009, the Smithsonian was awarded the National Design Award in the inaugural category of Interaction Design. It is a wide variety of applications such as collaboration, software and hardware.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.
