Google has sued a bill of expenditure stating the costs incurred during the anti-Oracle process. Since the search giant won on almost all counts, it demands compensation from Oracle.
GOOGLE INC.'S BILL OF COSTS (pdf)
Production of copies of documents: $ 2,900,349
Printing and decrypting entries: $ 143 341
Compensation to a court-appointed expert: $ 986,978 (50%)
Total: $ 4,030,669Under the production of copies is meant, first of all, the generation of copies in TIFF format from text files. For example, Oracle has received 204 individual requests for documents. To fulfill these requests, Google sent 97 million files to a third-party firm for processing, after which it sent the plaintiff in response to requests for 3.3 million TIFF images.

In the near future
Judge Alsup must decide on compensation.
The bill of expenditures does not include the cost of paying lawyers for Google, although they (according to expert estimates) amount to at least $ 10 million per month. The process has been going on since 2010. It is appropriate to recall the American proverb that whoever sues, lawyers always win.
