Yahoo and Facebook become partners

In the spring of this year, Yahoo initiated a lawsuit, claiming that Facebook infringes some of Yahoo’s online advertising patents. The trial promised to be long, but the companies unexpectedly agreed. As far as we know, the management of both companies will soon sign an agreement regarding the strategic cooperation between Yahoo and Facebook.

The companies have agreed on the joint bilateral use of patents, the rights to which belong to both Yahoo and Facebook. As always, there were anonymous sources that are aware of the details of the transaction. And the details are such that it was possible to reach an agreement without any money at all, the result of negotiations is precisely strategic cooperation.

By the way, a couple of hours ago, the social network Facebook confirmed the signing of the agreement and long-term cooperation with Yahoo. Companies get together to work on advertising sales in their advertising networks. How it will work is not known for sure, but an agreement is already there.

As for patents, Facebook has been granted the right to use only certain key patents owned by Yahoo. As for other patents, Facebook may still have to pay.

In the advertising field, both companies now have extensive opportunities. For example, if Ford will advertise its new car, the ads for this car will be posted on Facebook.com and on Facebook’s mobile website, as well as on all portals, websites and Yahoo applications.
