Chinese toothpaste maker is suing Apple because of the name "Snow Leopard"

Apple did not have time to get rid of the claims of the Chinese company Proview technologies on the name “iPad”, paying the last $ 60 million , like another Chinese company, Jiangsu Xuebao , which produces household chemicals, was outraged that MacOS X Snow Leopard allegedly violated the rights to their trademark . The fact is that the word "xuebao" is translated exactly as "snow leopard". This name belongs to the Chinese since 2000.



The court in Shanghai has already accepted the claim for consideration. The first court session is scheduled for July 10th. Jiangsu Xuebao requires $ 80,000 in compensation and a formal apology from Apple. In addition, Xuebao sues several Chinese companies that sell and promote Apple products. According to company representatives, in 2008, Apple unsuccessfully tried to register the Snow Leopard trademark, and therefore deliberately violated their rights by selling computers with operating systems under this name.
