Without unnecessary noise 1C Enterprise
released a new version of its platform. But do not rush to get tomatoes, the news is really worthwhile.
The key feature of the new version is
full-fledged clients for Linux (they promise deb, rpm packages for 32 and 64bit systems)
Thus, the only reason that keeps many and many offices from a full transition to linux - will soon cease to exist.
It is clear that instantly this will not happen, the period of beta-test may take years, but a start has been made. Right from today, I began to respect the company 1C and what it does.
It is also obvious that there will be a lot of problems with cash and specific equipment that is connected exclusively through the library dll - but this will not be a big hindrance on the way from windows.

Also among the key features of the new version include:- uploading the configuration and data in xml (even if editing the configuration with external utilities is a big question, then the possibility of using full version control systems is git, svn is good news)
- auto update thin client
- Google Chrome and Safari browsers support external components and extensions for working with files and for working with cryptography.
- Restructuring of the information base in the background (goodbye to the eternal hemorrhage with the expulsion of users from the database)
- Support for working with Windows Internet Explorer 6 and Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and 3.5 browsers has been discontinued. =)
I want to once again draw attention to the habra people that this is an
evaluation version - you don’t be in a hurry to run to demolish all ethersoft solutions and install a native client, for sure it is far from stable even compared to wine solutions.
Yes, anticipating possible conclusions that this is just a package for running the client under wine - I hasten to please, this is a
native client.

Well, the sweet picture about the organization of the infrastructure completely without the screws:
