100 decent computer games for DOS, which appeared in the eighties and nineties

The Geeks are Sexy blog on June 30 published the infographic “List of Worthwhile DOS Games”, the original source of which is the same-name blog entry on the June 4 blog “Information2Share”.

Its beauty is so significant that I believe it is necessary to mention it on Habrahabr too.

The hundreds of computer games selected for infographics are presented as a matrix of 10 × 10 elements depicted on a black background in the form of floppy disks - here is a smaller example:

Go and look: “ List of Worthwhile DOS Games ” (4337 × 4762 pixels, 7,793,317 bytes).

As you can see, each image is built according to strict rules.

At the top of the “floppy disk” is a screenshot of the game, to the left of which its genre is recorded, and to the right a description of the view (that is, whether it’s a first-person view, a side view, a top view, or an isometric projection, and so on).

In the center is the name of the game.

At the bottom of the "diskette" is a description of the game, to the right of which the year of its release is recorded, and to the left is some significant image (a fragment of the game cover, or a portrait of a key character, or another important screenshot).

To the right of the year is the arrow, which is inverted and contains the letter “P”, if the game was not developed for DOS, but was ported to DOS.

I also noticed that the arrow is turned (although it does not contain the letter “P”) on the “diskette” of “Tetris” - I don’t know what they wanted to say.
