In Kazakhstan over the past few months there has been a slight increase in the number of domain name registrations in the national domain KZ, the press service of the Ru-Center company reports.
Every month the number of Kazakh domains increases by 500 names. Some experts attribute this to the recent decline in registration costs in the national domain by 15%. Since May 5, 2006, the cost of domain name support services for registrants has been reduced by the Kazakhstan Association of IT Companies from 4,550 (about $ 35) to 3,900 tenge (about $ 30) per year. The cost is indicated without VAT, which in Kazakhstan is 15%. Taking into account the tax, domain registration now costs the user 4485 tenge (37.3 US dollars). Other experts see the reasons for growth in the revitalization of the government in the implementation of the program for the development of IT technologies in Kazakhstan.
In total, there are about 12 thousand second-level domains in the KZ domain, and about 1 thousand third-level domains are registered in the subdomains .com.kz, .net.kz, etc.
