Google today announced a great addition to Google Analytics - Mobile App Analytics.

Interest in mobile analytics is obvious, and Google is already a bit behind fashion. Product Manager Jadzyn Wang says that the company's goal is to create a tool for "holistic application analytics." Although there are other mobile analytics services on the market, according to Wang, none of them tracks all types of data, so developers are in despair forced to use several different services at once, which entails high costs.

Wang notes that the new analytics from Google covers three main stages of the relationship between users and applications - user engagement, involvement and results. With regard to attracting users, developers can now track new and active users, and how these indicators vary depending on different versions of the application, devices and operating system. To measure engagement, Google Analytics includes data such as frequency of use, engagement flows, and failure reports. Finally, to measure the financial result, Mobile App Analytics will show conversion (and other important data for developers) and in-app purchases.

Google Analytics already included mobile traffic data, but so far there was nothing that could be useful for application developers, so Wang expects the product to be popular. One of the main indicators of change is the following: when users sign in to Google Analytics, the service asks them a question about what they want to track: a website or a mobile application.
New mobile data will be available to application developers for both iOS and Android. They will receive the same types of reports, but with one exception - developers who publish their applications through Google Play will be able to receive data on which traffic sources encourage downloads and referrals. Wang says that in the future he wants to integrate more deeply with Google Play.
Mobile App Analytics is currently in beta testing. Subscribe

The company will also launch Google Analytics in the form of
an Android application that will allow you to view data on sites and mobile applications from smartphones. Google is also seriously considering releasing an app for iOS.
