Despite the increasing popularity of books in digital format, ordinary paper books are also in no hurry to give up their positions. Millions of books are sold and bought in the world, and the path of each book purchased / sold can be very interesting. The authors of the project
The Book Depository Live decided to track such paths in real time.
There is no special practical purpose here, but the project is still interesting. The basis is taken by the Google Maps project, on the cards of which information about the sale and purchase of a certain book is superimposed. It is clear that to track the fate of each book, you need somewhere to take data on the time and place of purchase and / or sale.
')
Here the authors took the project The Book Depository. Real-time on Google Maps shows a pop-up informer with a demonstration of the name of the book and the time of purchase. Of course, in order to track any dependency (for example, the name of the book and the region where such books are bought most actively), you need to use already specialized software. When you click on the name of the book, you go to The Book Depository, with a detailed description and a photo of the book.
But this goal has not been set so far, so the project is relatively useless. But interesting, you see.
