New borders of Moscow
For one night, the population density in Moscow fell about 2.4 times - in proportion to the same increase in the area of the city. Since July 1, 2012, more than 290 settlements have entered the city line, from large cities such as Shcherbinka and Troitsk to very small villages. Now Moscow is bordered by the Kaluga region, and the expansion that has taken place has even surpassed the famous extension in 1960, when the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) appeared.
To help new residents of the city, summer residents and all those interested, we have created a special page that shows the boundaries of the new territories of Moscow, as well as a list of localities included in the city limits. For the same event, the Yandex.Schedule service compiled a list of suburban bus routes, the numbers of which changed from July 1.
As information becomes available, the project is planned to be supplemented with details of changes occurring in the territories of Greater Moscow.
