The guys from Official.fm Labs conceived to make a real sound revolution in the web: two weeks ago they released FLAC.js , a decoder of audio files of the FLAC format (Free Lossless Audio Codec), and also Aurora.js , a framework on CoffeeScript for easy connection of decoders and web creation applications working with sound. Thus, through the Web Audio API you can now listen to music in perfect quality, and all web applications can access the sound card in a standard way.
JavaScript is already so powerful that the browser decodes sound, consuming less than 5% of CPU resources. You can imagine what cool sound editors, mixers and other audio applications will appear on the web soon.
