Hello. A couple of days ago, the Parallels Plesk Panel 11 hosting panel came out. In Russia, as in other countries of the world, preparations for the launch began in a few months. In December of 2011,
we asked habrayusers what they lack in the current Parallels Plesk Panel 10.4. Some time later, a
short review of the capabilities of the 11th generation beta of Plesk was ready. Under the cut is a very short, literally point by point, description of key innovations in Parallels Plesk Panel 11.
To summarize, the bulk of the changes in the panel touched upon three things: increased productivity through the use of modern web technologies, increased security solutions for all groups of users and expansion of tools for small and medium businesses based on its presence in the network.
')
Generally speaking, the panel is “wired” with about 80 improvements, but let's confine ourselves to those that really change life for the better.
- Nginx support. Now the most popular web server of the .ru domain zone can be installed from the panel automatically - the alecksey user request is heard. Nginx in the Linux version of the panel helps to significantly save server hardware resources. Hosters like komtet , who have few servers, but all of them are powerful and each of them has a large number of sites, will be satisfied.
- Also nginx works as a proxy server for slow connections (for 3G or significantly more inhibitory EDGE) and reduces the load on the server.
- Security, especially in terms of client passwords. System administrators can independently assign for them the level of complexity - as they see fit.
- New SDK. The long-awaited opportunity to make your own changes to Plesk, so necessary in local markets. Development kits are available for both Windows Server and Linux.
- Prokachan supports the web development platform Microsoft WebMatrix. Plesk can now install MS Webdeploy (server side of MS Webmatrix) - it turned out that not all users can do this on their own.
- Parallels Plesk Panel 11 supports the specifications of the APS 1.2 standard. For customers of hosters, it is good because it allows you to automatically deliver and deploy ready-made services - more than 300 applications in total. Who cares , you can look at www.apsstandard.org .
- Parallels WebPresence Builder has been updated, which is a Plesk software module or sold separately for web studio and webmaster tasks. This is not just a website builder, it also has integration with social networks and an online trading solution Ecwid. In general, it can be used to create something more than a business card site. What can a designer, you can see here on this video.
That's about as short. For completeness, I’ll only add a link to a page from which you can get to
test benches (Linux and Windows), as well as a link to the
comparison with CPanel . Well, I invite you to speak in the comments.
