An annual international economic forum is being held in St. Petersburg today, at which Vladimir Putin made a very interesting statement.
In his speech at the opening of the forum, the president promised to consider any Internet initiatives that would get 100,000 signatures. Initiatives themselves will consider the local parliament.
“We will continue to improve the mechanisms of our democracy, including the use of modern technologies of crowdsourcing,” said the president.

So far these are only words, but these words are very interesting and cause several questions at once. Where such initiatives can be placed? How will be the identification and authentication of the identity of the initiative comrades? How will the government solve the problem of cheating?
Do not forget that a full and transparent consideration of such applications "without cuts" is quite able to please the parliament with questions like "How to patch KDE2 under FreeBSD?" And mimic kittens. In the event that initiatives are censored, it is very interesting how and according to which rules.
It's amazing to hear about such initiatives from the speaker himself. Putin's predecessor, Dmitry Medvedev, was very interested in various innovations, in particular, he was interested in the IT sector. At the same time, Putin always spoke of himself as a conservative, did not make any accounts on social networks, and in general did not use novelties.
Interfax reports Putin’s words that such a project can serve as a formula for a national model of democracy and development. ITAR-TASS reports that the president also noted that the thirst for change can be dangerous and lead to "the destruction of civil peace and the state itself."
