Linus Torvalds, who has been living in the USA for 20 years, last week visited his homeland, Finland, to receive the Millenium Technology Prize.
During this visit, the
local publication tried to find out his opinion on the mobile industry and its explosive development in recent years. It turned out that in fact, Linus is not too fond of mobile phones, but he currently owns a device with Android. The only thing he likes about him is email.

“I do not use this phone. I read letters because I love email. ”
In addition, Linus noted that in his opinion Nokia made the
mistake of going to Windows Phone , but in general he understands this step, given the past of the head of the company Stephen Elop (who before Nokia worked at Microsoft).
“I think they should have chosen Linux,” he says with a laugh. “With Android, Nokia could participate in the development of the OS, as it did with Symbian. Microsoft cooperates with Nokia only as a manufacturer. This is a dead end.
