From May 23 to May 24, DevCon'12 conference devoted to software development and testing was held in the Yakhonty natural resort in the Moscow region. The event was attended by 800+ people, and another 40000+ watched the session reports in the online broadcast.

Two weeks have passed, it's time for the Friday photo report. I invite participants to remember how it was, and to everyone else to see what the conference offered the participants.

Under the cut you will find many photos (traffic!) With a few comments.

Training

The conference participants arrived at the site on May 23, but the organizers had already been there two days before, setting the scene for the main hall, the report rooms, testing the equipment, and other organizational issues.

The backstage was configured with a fault-tolerant scheme of the plenary report and presentations of the speakers.

Finally, everything was ready for meeting participants and holding the conference.

The conference

Participants arrived in the morning from Moscow on special buses.

After settling, they were already waiting for coffee and breakfast in the open air.

Participants registered at special racks.

And they came to communicate to the experts zone, which has already begun its work or viewed the partners' stands.

Meanwhile, in the large hall, Rubin made final preparations, sound check and equipment testing in full force.

The time approached the opening and the participants were in Rubin to participate in the plenary report.

Studying the conference program

There are last minutes before the start.

The light goes out. Opening! The conference opens with a group performance with music.

The presentation was demonstrated by Microsoft developers who are building the Microsoft platform from individual cubes. This was described in the plenary report. The conference was opened by Alexander Lozhechkin - Director of the Department of Strategic Technologies at Micorosoft Russia.

Alexander spoke about the importance of a unified platform and invited the key speaker of the plenary report - Jonas Persson, Chief Operating Officer for Strategic Technologies at Microsoft, to the stage. The entire plenary report was devoted to a single Microsoft platform, which can be expressed in two words as “Cloud + Devices”.

Jonas Persson spoke about the new Windows 8 platform and the success of Windows Phone around the world and in Russia. To demonstrate both platforms, Mikhail Chernomordikov, who showed the audience of applications on both platforms and new devices from Nokia, which have already entered the market, came on the scene.

After introducing Windows 8 and Windows Phone, Jonas gave the floor to Alexander Lozhechkin, who told the audience about the universe of Visual Studio development tools. To demonstrate the new products in Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server, Dmitry Andreev appeared on the scene.

The final part of the story about the Microsoft platform and cloud technologies was led by Scott Hanselman - a special guest of the conference and a very well-known specialist in web development technologies. Scott was assisted by Natalia Efimtseva, who conducted a demonstration of the work of Windows Azure.

Lunch

After the plenary report, there was a lunch and at the same time a question and answer session of Sott Hanselmann. According to the participants, the lunches at the conference were successful; the cooks of Yakhontov managed to feed all 800+ people.

Scott Hanselman

Our guest Scott Hanselman was probably the most incendiary speaker of the conference. Twitter was full of posts "Scott zhhot" and in fact, Scott is a very cheerful person and all his performances are accompanied by a lot of humor. Below are some photos from his sessions.

Conference speakers

At DevCon'12 there were more than 50 reports that were read by masters of their craft, Russian experts and invited guests. Below the photo, the participants immediately recognize who is who.

Expert Zone

Both days of the conference in the center of the resort worked a large area of experts, where competitions were held and everyone could communicate with invited experts of the conference.

A place

Several photos with views of the resort, in the middle of which is a large lake.

Evening program

On the evening of the first day, the participants were expected to see the “Night of Coding” and the Billy's Band performance.

Some preferred to gather at the local karaoke bar and relax with colleagues.

Communication

By the way, about communication. Reports are presentations, but no less interesting at conferences are people, new acquaintances and communication.

More at the conference

Even at the conference: someone gave an interview, someone played in Kinect, someone sat at the computers of the demo zone, someone was relaxing in the fresh air at the coffee racks.

Great helpers

The conference participants certainly drew attention to our excellent assistants, who were always happy to help with any question. And at the same time and together to take a picture :-).

Closing

During the closing, some happy conference participants won prizes. The closing was conducted by Anna Mar'ina and Gaidar Magdanurov.

Departure

Before leaving, some were photographed for memory, some came off as best they could. Everyone's mood was extremely good. Two days of the holiday in nature were not in vain :-)
