The multiprotocol IM + client for iOS, following the modern fashion of “building up” the numbers in the version number, has grown to version 6.5 (back in December last year I wrote about updates to version 5.6).
The Android version still has the number 6.2.4.
In the list of changes, it was surprising to read not only about the appearance of the new IM protocol from the dating service Mamba.ru, but also about stopping further support for MySpace. Fortunately for MySpace fans, no one will remove the existing functionality from IM + :)
')
In total, IM + supports already nineteen IM protocols: Facebook, Skype, MSN / Live Messenger, Google Talk, Yahoo, AIM / iChat, ICQ, Twitter, Jabber, VKontakte, Yandex IM, Mail.Ru Agent, Mamba ID, own geolocation service - “Neighbors”, own content sharing service Beep, Renren (Chinese social network, popular among students), SINA Weibo (Chinese microblogging) and mig33 (another social network, popular in South-West Asia and Africa), Fetion (third most popular in China, the IM protocol).
The good news for users of IM + versions above 6.X from Ukraine is the emergence of support for the Ukrainian translation of the program interface (available for the Android version with the selected Ukrainian locale).
For the iOS version, the Ukrainian translation in IM + 6.5 was not detected :(
Of the international improvements, I’ll note the appearance of a “very dark” design theme (relevant for users of devices with Amoled screens) and Retina support for the New iPad.
IM + itself is still provided for free, and IM + Pro version costs $ 9.99.
Depending on the platform, it can be found in the AppStore, Google Play, Marketplace and even in the browser (the web version of the service is available at plus.im).
PS: I could not find a picture depicting two developers annoyed by the domination of the many IM protocols on the market and as a result creating their own N-nn protocol. However, multiprotocol clients and created to solve this problem :)
