Google Maps got 3D and battery life

Recently on Habré was published the news that Google is going to show the updated map service Google Maps. It was reported that three-dimensional objects and even entire regions will appear on the maps. Today was held a press conference in San Francisco, dedicated to updating the service. All previous rumors were confirmed, plus some more nice features were added. In particular, it will soon be possible to work with the Google Maps service without access to the Network. Probably, many representatives of the community will be happy to have this opportunity, right?

But first - about the three-dimensionality. All regions of Google Maps will not be voluminous, most megacities will be represented in 3D. According to the developers, when using this opportunity we will see everything from above, the impression is a flight over the city. And this is not by chance, since such three-dimensional maps were created using the work of special aircraft. Interestingly, the resulting images allow you to see all sides of the photographed objects.

Unfortunately, the developers have not yet announced which major cities will be available in the three-dimensional mode. However, it is known that already at the end of the year, different regions of cities (and entire cities) will be shown in 3D, with a total population of 300 million people. Not a bad opportunity, you see.

Plus, the ability to work offline, without connecting to the Web. This is probably one of the best news for users of this map service. For now, this feature will be available only to owners of Android devices. Autonomous work will not immediately become available to users, as always, more testing is now being conducted, and over time, autonomous mode will be introduced for everyone. As mentioned above, all this is relevant only for Android OS.
