Overcoming flight delays, jetlags and wild Taiwanese heat, Nomobile finally got to Computex 2012. Here we found a sea of ultrabooks, the most interesting of which we are in a hurry to tell!

Gigabyte x11

The Gigabyte brand is not as well known in Russia as it probably would have liked, but after Computex 2012, the level of recognition will rise once every 50 - a laptop with the signature “The easiest on Earth” is interested in everyone.

Toshiba U840W

In addition to the largest tablet at Computex 2012 presents the longest ultrabook in the world. The 14.4-inch Toshiba U840W, despite the disclaimer in the video, has a display resolution of 21: 9.

The U840W is an ultrabook for movie fans. It is with a resolution of 21: 9 that films are shown in most cinemas in the world. “W” in the title means “widescreen”, that is, widescreen. The diagonal of the display of the unusual U840W is at least an unusual 14.4 inches.

Inside the ultrabook Ivy Brigde processor and 6 GB of RAM, 500 GB of hard disk space, combined with a 32 GB SSD. As well as a Blu-ray drive, Harman Kardon acoustics, and an almost complete set of required ports.

Samsung 900X4C

We are already familiar with this comrade: for the first time he appeared on CES 2012. But only by the summer of Samsung did the 900X4C be modified so that it could be shown to everyone and not put it next to a special person.

image

The 900X4C is Samsung's first 15-inch ultrabook and immediately the thinnest in the world. The device is representative of the 9th series and it is not surprising that it looks very similar to the 13-inch model. The 900X4C aluminum case is 14.9 mm thick and weighs 1.65 kg.

This ultrabook was given a powerful stuffing: processors Core i5 and i7 of the third generation, 8 GB of RAM and SSD-drive. The graphics, however, built-in - Intel HD 4000.

The display of the 900X4C is matte, with a nice thin edging and a resolution of 1600x900.

From the ports: three USB (one of them is version 3.0), microHDMI and miniVGA, headphone jack, LAN through an adapter and a card reader on the bottom under the plug.

ASUS TAICHI

ASUS Taichi is the most anticipated product of Computex 2012. The “incredible innovation” was announced a week before the exhibition, and the new product, on the whole, met all expectations.

The mechanism for turning ASUS TAICHI into a tablet is extremely simple: you just need to close it.

Ultrabook will be available in two versions: 13.3-and 11.6-inch. Each of them is equipped with two identical Super IPS + displays with a plague resolution of 1900x1280.

Inside the ultrabooks are the third generation Core i7 processors, 4 GB RAM, SSD drives, two webcams and, of course, Wi-Fi modules. On the case: two USB 3.0 ports, miniVGA and microDVI connectors, a screen autorotation disable key and volume control, if the gadget works in tablet mode.

The keyboard of the TAICHI island type - already familiar from the UX31 ultrabook - and also with backlight.

ASUS does not name the exact weight and thickness of ultrabooks, but says that they are as thin and light as Zenbook devices.

Fujitsu Lifebook UH572

In March, at CeBIT, we were shown only non-working prototypes, literally layouts without a filling. But a couple of months later, quite efficient devices were brought to Computex.

image

In general, two models: 13 - and 14-inch. In size, they differ little from each other (however, the 13-inch heavier (!) 100 grams). The main differences in colors and materials of the case. The body of the junior Lifebook Ultrabook is made of aluminum and silver. 14-inch model is made of magnesium and painted in red. The first weighs 1.6 kg., The second - 1.5 kg. The thickness of the ultrabook is 16 mm.

Ultrabooks displays are made by, apparently, the familiar LG Shuriken technology - we have already seen this in the Acer 8481. Even when turned off, it looks good

image
Another distinctive feature is the presence of a fingerprint scanner. This is only the Toshiba Z830

The opening angle of the display is 180 degrees. Hi ThinkPad Ultrabook!

Ports - the mass. There is USB 3.0, HDMI, and a network port (albeit proprietary)
