Closes the oldest working torrent tracker

Owners of FileSoup torrent tracker, founded in February 2003, announced that they are closing their project. The reason is that the resource has lost popularity compared to other younger and well-known sites, such as PirateBay, no Torrentz, isoHunt, and fatigue from the fight against rights holders.

From the opening until 2009, FileSoup worked without any problems, until in 2009 the British police, following the request of representatives of the anti-piracy organization Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT), arrested the owner of the site, known under the nickname TheGeeker and his system administrator with the nickname Snookered.

In 2011, a British court found during proceedings that the evidence presented by FACT was unreliable and freed both. On the one hand, this was a victory for the FileSoup team, on the other hand, a lengthy trial resulted in the once popular resource losing its audience, and at the moment there are 1,043,311 active participants registered on the site, which cannot be compared with the previous one. by the audience.

The owner of FileSoup - TheGeeker - promises not to use the existing resource database, transfer it to third-party trackers, and especially copyright holders, and the Filesoup.com and Filesoup.co.uk domains will be put up for sale.
