Toshiba introduced the Satellite U845W ultra-widescreen laptop - 21: 9, which should be perfect for watching blockbusters.

This is an ultrabook, that is, it has an ultra-thin design and an Intel Core processor, in this case third-generation chips (Ivy Bridge). You can choose a complete set with 256 GB SSD or 500 GB HDD in addition to 32 GB SSD for fast loading.

Returning to the screen: this is a 14.4-inch display with a resolution of 1792 x 768. Toshiba chose a 21: 9 screen, obviously for movies, since most of the expensive movies are shot in this cinematic format.

However, a wide screen may have other advantages. Horizontal stretching can be convenient for simultaneous work with several programs. Toshiba's special screen split utility pre-divides the screen into several windows, so when you drag an application to one of the specified locations, it will automatically change its size to take up all the space allotted to it.

The laptop has HDMI and Ethernet ports, 3 USB ports and up to 8 GB of RAM. In the lightest configuration, the laptop weighs a little more than one and a half kilograms, and its thickness is about 2 centimeters. The price starts from a thousand dollars. This is certainly a very niche laptop, but this is an interesting approach for Toshiba to dilute the monotony in the notebook market.

Toshiba also unveiled two other ultrabooks. The first is the Satellite U845 with a budget design, 500 GB HDD (plus 16 or 32 GB of flash memory) and a 14-inch screen, the price of which starts from $ 750. And the second is the Portégé Z935, even thinner (1.6 cm) and lighter (1.1 kg) U845W, its battery life is stated for up to eight hours. The price for it starts from $ 900.
