Recognizing the pulse of a person in a video

At MIT, CSAIL and Quanta Research Cambridge developed a video filter that reinforces minor differences between frames. For example, a video camera registers an invisible change in skin color due to blood inflow / outflow - by passing the video through the filter, we get a clear visualization of the pulse.

The technology can be widely used in video surveillance systems, computer vision systems, computer interfaces, etc.
