The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has announced recommendations for an ultra-high-resolution television standard UHDTV with a sound system 22.2.
Two screen sizes are recommended:
It is assumed that in Japan, such TVs will appear in 2013-2014.
The pictures for clarity show the ratio of these sizes with a standard TV (SDTV) and the current HDTV.
