Linux Mint 13 Maya Released

The day before yesterday, it was announced that a new version of the popular Linux distribution for desktop PCs based on Ubuntu Linux, Linux Mint 13, codenamed “Maya”, was released.

Linux Mint 13 provides its own branded Cinnamon 1.4, based on GNOME 3 and Clutter, and MATE 1.2, which continues the development of the traditional GNOME 2 desktop environment. The latest Linux Mint release is based on the recent Ubuntu release - 12.04 Precise Pangolin ”, due to which he received LTS status and will be maintained until April 2017.

So, among the key innovations and changes in the Linux Mint 13 distribution:

• The distribution includes a graphical environment MATE 1.2;
