Google Drive may lose its logo

I remember in a post about Google Drive, I joked about the fact that the logo is very similar to PROMT, and we are waiting for a lawsuit against Google.

And so it happened! According to Lenta.ru , the Petersburg company PROMT, which is developing the eponymous translator, sent a pre-trial claim to the Russian office of Google on April 28.

But as it turned out, the PROMT logo was not patented, and in fact the developer had no rights to his logo. So, in order to reinforce his position, on May 18, a Russian developer submitted an application to Rospatent to register his logo in the form of a tri-color triangle. According to Marker, Google Inc. applied for registration of the Google Drive logo in Rospatent only on May 22. In case experts recognize two signs to be similar “to the point of confusion,” a company that registers a logo earlier will be able to prohibit its use to a competitor.
