Nvidia’s vice president, Rob Csonger (Rob Csonger), at a meeting with shareholders on May 17, announced that the company is preparing to introduce the Tegra 3 platform to Nvidia Kai. Technical details are not yet known. Rob Xonger promises that four-core tablets based on Kai will cost no more than Kindle Fire with much greater performance. They will be running Android Ice Cream Sandwich. In particular, Xonger stated:
“Our strategy for Android is to make possible the creation of quad-core tablets running Android ICS at a price of $ 199. For this, the Kai platform is being developed. We will introduce a lot of technological innovations that will significantly reduce the power consumption of the display and use cheaper components. ”
Perhaps the first tablet on this platform will be the long-awaited budget tablet from Google , which is expected to be released this summer.
