Russia has created a platform for video conferencing with a record number of participants.

On August 23, 2011, Cambridge officially recorded a world record for the number of participants in an online video conference - 10,899 people.

On May 21 in Moscow, a representative of the Guinness Book of Records Jack Brockbank (Jack Brockbank) during a webinar conducted by the companies ExpertSystem.ru (distance learning) and Mind (the provider of SaaS solutions) recorded the number of participants, which amounted to 12,012 people. Thus, the record of American experts lasted less than a year; at the same time, given that the number of participants was constantly changing, the lower limit of 12,012 client connections was taken as a record. The total number of participants was 14,248 people from seven federal districts of Russia.

As a technological solution for the conference, the Mind platform was used for the development of the company of the same name. It is curious that only browser and flash-player are used to provide comfortable video communication - no additional software is required on the client’s place. As the audio and video signal codecs, the conferencing platform uses H.264 and free speex . To ensure a minimum signal transmission delay, peer agreements were concluded with Internet providers, and Adobe and Wowza are used as media servers.
