The application Mamba Hiring: IT-specialists need to look for IT-methods

A few months ago, Mamba launched the Mamba Hiring application to search for developers on the social network Facebook. Several thousand people passed the test, and the best programmers of them are now working for the benefit of the Russian leader in the dating industry.

As practice shows, the search for IT-specialists by standard methods does not bring good results. Brilliant Internet developers are noticeably different from other specialists: it is especially important for them that the work be as comfortable as possible and enjoyable. They do not place resumes on standard job search resources, nor do they engage in self-marketing on the market. To find such an employee, you need to interest him even before being invited to an interview.

In October 2011, an application appeared on Facebook social network that allows any user to determine how good a programmer is. According to the answers to 37 questions, the application gives the result in points and status, ranging from “You are not a programmer” to “You are a super cool programmer”, and also indicates a place in the rating among friends. The highest score at the moment - 321 (for comparison: on average, programmers pass the test with 200 points). Each developer who has shown excellent results is invited to an interview at Mambu, and most often takes a worthy place in our friendly team.

The executive director of Mamba, Yaroslav Sergeev, commented: “Several years ago we created an online test for programmers on our corporate website. Since then, it has become de facto one of the most used tools of the Runet for the remote evaluation of developers. But technologies are moving ahead, and we decided that the new and updated version of our questionnaire, with new themes and a competitive system, will be the place on Facebook. ”
