One of the main tasks of Google Maps is to help the user get from point A to point B. We are constantly working to make it even faster and easier. Today we are introducing new features of Maps that will help you get to your destination even faster.
More information for a comfortable trip
Details of traffic jams has become available for 6 more cities in Russia. If you live in Novosibirsk, Kazan, Ufa, Perm, Saratov or Krasnodar, simply go to
maps.google.com and select the “cork” layer in the widget that is in the upper right corner of the map. Traffic information for new cities is also available on the corresponding layer on
Google Maps for mobile and in
Google Maps Navigation (beta) .
')
In addition, we recently updated information about the bus and metro timetable in Moscow, so that you always and everywhere have time on time!
Travel time For many, the most familiar way to travel is, of course, a car. No one likes to spend time in traffic jams, so you - our users - before you go somewhere, want to first find out how well the city “rides”. Now we can tell you exactly how long the planned trip will take, taking into account the situation on the roads. Thanks to this, you will know exactly when you get to your house, to a meeting or to a restaurant where a table is reserved for you.
Of course, traveling by car, especially during peak hours, is not always the best way to get to a particular place. We have developed a feature with which you can find out which means of transportation are best used and how long it will take to travel by public transport.
Traffic jams at different times
If you do not have a strict reference to the time of travel, most likely you will want to go on a journey when traffic jams are minimal. On Google Maps, you can see what traffic is usually at a specified location and time. To do this, simply use the widget in the lower left corner of the map.
Have a nice trip!
* You can help us collect more accurate traffic data by allowing access to your location information in the Google Android mobile app. Other drivers will appreciate it!
