EMC bought Syncplicity

Today it became known that such a giant as EMC , the creator of Symmetrix and the owner of VMWare, bought a startup Syncplicity .



For those who have not heard of Syncplicity, in two words:
Syncplicity is, until recently, a weak competitor to Dropbox. The main functional difference for private users is the ability to synchronize any folder, which is very convenient. For corporate clients, its capabilities greatly exceed Dropbox.

Now this startup can be considered as a competitor to Dropbox number one, since EMC chose him among dozens of others.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, but it is known that at the moment Syncplicity has more than 25,000 paid subscribers, which is not bad.
