GitHub released Windows client

Ever wanted to find an easier way to work with git and github on your windows machine? Afraid of the command line and generating ssh keys via putty? Want to join the largest developer community in the world?

Today, github announced its Windows client , which can be used right out of the box.

The client is written in C #, it works on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and the pre-release of Windows 8. The installation of msysGit (git for win machines) is included directly in the installation. Join in!

You can clone the repository to your computer with just one click of the “Clone in Windows” button directly on the page of the project you are interested in:



The interface allows you to do most things you could do on the command line — work with repositories, make commits, view their history, work with branches, and more.

Thus, official github clients now have MacOS and Windows.
