A spammer from Russia admitted that he took part in the attack on the websites of the anti-spam company
Blue Security and on the websites of other Internet companies. The aggressive tactics of Blue Security are very annoying to spammers.
In his
anonymous letter sent to the editors of Wired, the attacker introduced himself as a spammer from Russia and admitted that the scandalous attack on the Blue Security websites was started with the aim of collecting the mailing addresses of all the clients of this anti-spam company. They are about half a million. According to the Russians, it almost succeeded. They collected from 70% to 90% of the addresses and sent messages all over this list.
“Blue Security simply interferes with our business,” said a Russian spammer. “They annoy our administrators every day.”

Even before this letter was received, the executive director of the Israeli company Blue Security said that Russian spammers, organized into a group called PharmaMaster, launched a
series of attacks on Blue Security servers, causing the site to interrupt its work, and the users of the company received threatening emails.
According to representatives of Blue Security, this group of spammers is also responsible for a number of DoS attacks on servers of five hosting providers, as well as on the servers of SixApart, where one of the world's largest blogging services Livejournal is located.
