Google Inc. has long announced the purchase of a Motorola Mobility unit. Despite the fact that most of us consider the transaction closed, it is still not the case. The fact is that Google has already given permission for the acquisition of Motorola Mobility in the USA and Europe, but China remained silent. Now, however, it became known that the Chinese antimonopoly authorities approved the deal.



True, with certain limitations. For example, the corporation is committed to leaving Android free, and in addition, an open mobile OS for the next five years. Google representatives agreed to restrictions, and now lawyers of the company can proceed to the last steps to close this major transaction (it is worth recalling that the "Corporation of Good" gave $ 12.5 billion for Motorola Mobility).

By the way, the most likely reason for the purchase is a huge number of all sorts of patents that are in the vaults of Motorola Mobility. Previously, the news that the acquired capacity of Google acquired was not needed, and in general, the management of the corporation is already thinking about the resale of production facilities, keeping the patents for themselves, has already skipped.



And there are a lot of patents here - all in all, Motorola Mobility has 17 thousand (!) Patents of various kinds, which, after closing the deal, become the property of Google. Now the corporation is protected from patent claims of its competitors much better than before. A lot of lawsuits, and among the most active competitors can be called Apple and Microsoft.



Now the corporation can breathe freely (figuratively speaking), having received all necessary permissions. Probably in the near future we will hear about closing the deal.
