The average size of a javascript script increased by 48% over the year
The HTTP Archive statistic demonstrates the explosive growth of JavaScript on the web. A year ago, the average amount of scripts on the page was 128 KB, and now it is already 189 KB.
On the one hand, it is nice that this programming language is experiencing something like revival and universal popularity. On the other hand, an increase in the amount of scripts loads the browser and negatively affects the page load time. It’s sad that one tweet (140 characters) requires 1.65 megabytes of scripts .
