Microsoft and Nokia started the attraction of unprecedented generosity

Appcampus On May 14, hot Finnish guys from Aalto University launched the AppCampus developer funding program with the support of Microsoft and Nokia. The information did not run on Russian-language resources, but AppCampus works for developers of all countries, and therefore can help our colleagues.

An optimistic press release reports that unique, innovative mobile projects that utilize the capabilities of the Windows Phone and Nokia platforms have a chance to receive funding in the amount of 20 to 70 kilo-euros. The infusion is promised in the form of a grant, which means "free of charge, that is, for nothing." They promise to take the decision within four weeks from the moment of application.

There is, of course, a small catch in this proposal, but it is quite reasonable: at the beginning of the journey, the project will receive only 30% of the amount. The rest is after successful completion and publication in the Marketplace.

Are chances great?

According to official data , 80,000 applications are currently hosted on the Windows Marketplace. It can be assumed that 20 thousand developers took part in the birth of this modest set. (No one met the official statistics on the number of developers, by any chance?)
Total plan to spend 18 million euros, which should be enough for an average of 400 projects. Thus, the chances of getting financing are about 1/50.

As they say, stay tuned! We have applied.
