It all started on April 1st. That is, with jokes.
They invented Yandex for
optimists and
pessimists , the
dream of a webmaster , wrote
essays , turned the arrow. And then they thought - not one, after all, a holiday of the year. And who will guess that we mark others if this is not reflected on the main page. Began to celebrate more or less popular events - the New Year, the holidays "number twenty-three" and "number eight", alien Valentine's Day, Cosmonautics Day, May 1 and Victory Day. And it started.

At some point, it seemed to us that there were still few holidays in the year. And it's not even a weekend. Just the decoration of the “muzzle” became a need, I wanted to do something nice for myself and others. Noted Last Bell, Teacher's Day and the birthday of Alexander Pushkin. Still, something was missing. Here we decided to study the issue further.

There was an idea to celebrate the anniversaries of great people (the degree of greatness in this case, of course, is subjective, but we have the right). Outside the “jubilee” rule that emerged was and remains only the poet Pushkin, whose birthday we celebrate every year. And this year we have already celebrated the 100th anniversary of Agnes Barto and Arseny Tarkovsky, the 150th anniversary of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and are planning (in honor of the 10th anniversary, against the rules, we will reveal our plans) to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Astrid Lindgren.
You can rate and comment on all holiday arrows
here . And, if you know other holidays, in honor of which you can decorate the Yandex home page, be sure to write to us.
PS And we continue to celebrate the 10th anniversary. Thank you for your letters and calls, special thanks to Afisha.ru for a wizard in a blue helicopter :) Very tasty!
