Fastest Startup Weekend

On May 26, the 21st Startup Weekend will take place at the Digital October center in Moscow. We continue to experiment with the format of the event and this time decided to fit two and a half days in one day.

Why and how?

We will reduce the number of participating projects.

Usually about 100 projects are involved in Startup Weeks at varying degrees of readiness. This time we will select projects more strictly and want to receive no more than 50 participating projects. The main requirement for the selection of projects will be the presence of a team with a set of competencies for its implementation, a big plus will be the presence of at least something already done.

Projects will have more time to communicate with experts.

About 30 experts will take part in the weekend. With a decrease in the number of teams, each team will have more opportunities to communicate with experts. Some experts volunteered to build their communication with projects in the form of master classes. Gaidar Magdanurov, director of Microsoft Seed Fund, and Nail Zamashkina, project manager for Dengi@Mail.ru, will conduct such master classes at this Weekend.

Faster, Faster

Previously, one of the advantages of the two “workers” days off was the opportunity to sleep with all the feedback received, go home, calmly think and come the next day with a fresh head, to calmly and balancedly present one’s idea of ​​what has changed with regard to the improvements ... fall asleep!

Participants now have only one day to:

• talk with experts, compare the opinions of different professionals and
  get valuable advice
• find partners, colleagues and new useful friends
• present your project at the final presentation on Saturday evening and count on the possibility of receiving investments from Arkady Moreynis and other members of the Syndicate

This format is a real test for the speed of thinking, speed of reaction and understanding of the essence of his own project - as these qualities are key for a successful startup.

First discuss and then tell.

An ordinary startup event begins with a story about its project, and then the authors try to prove to the experts that their idea has the right to life, which often results not in dialogue, but in an argument to try to convince everyone that your project is so good.

We will be different. At first, the participants will discuss with the experts their ideas and opportunities for their development, and after all the discussion, they will present their refined ideas to their colleagues and viewers.
