Comstar-UTS and MTS organize WLAN-roaming between their Wi-Fi networks

Comstar-United TeleSystems and Mobile TeleSystems announced the launch of Russia's first sms-authentication service, which allows the user to pay for Wi-Fi services from his subscriber account with a mobile operator. In the framework of the same project, WLAN roaming between the Comstar-UTS hot spot networks and MTS is organized. Now you can pay for Wi-Fi services from your personal account at MTS in the hot-spots of Comstar-UTS and MTS.

The sms-authentication service assumes that the subscriber receives a login and password for accessing the Internet on the territory of any Wi-Fi-MTS hot spot, for which the MTS subscriber sends an SMS message to 1106 or 1107 short number. As a result of the transaction from his personal account $ 5 or $ 10 is charged, which are required respectively for a one-hour or two-hour Internet access session via the Wi-Fi-MTS network.

“Participation in a joint project is interesting for MTS, primarily due to the possibility of implementing an additional service for our subscribers,” says Sergey Irevli, Head of Mobile TeleSystems product development. “At the same time, technical project management is entrusted to Comstar-UTS, which carried out the main work required for organizing sms authentication — creating intranet billing.”
