Tizen will get support for Android applications.

The Tizen mobile platform development consortium (Intel, Samsung, etc.) seriously got down to business and hurried manufacturers not only with the release of the device (there is already a prototype tablet), but it also takes steps to popularize the system among developers.

Given the open nature of Tizen, the consortium decided to provide the ability to run programs on Android "with 100% compatibility and the response that consumers expect from an Android device." In this regard, the American company OpenMobile presented its development "Application Compatibility Layer (ACL)", thanks to which, in fact, it is possible to run an Android application in Tizen. Technically, it is not clear exactly how this is ensured, except that on the demo video you can see the panel, typical for Android 4.0, and the interface of the programs and dialogs being launched repeats exactly the mobile platform from Google.

The ACL solution is not intended for developers, but for OEMs, from which it can be concluded that it is likely that the efforts of programmers to transfer their Android programs will be minimal.

It is also worth recalling that the Canadian RIM, wanting to increase the range of applications available in its BlackBerry App World catalog, offered developers who are porting their Android applications to the RIM platform free PlayBook tablets.
