For legal reasons, Apple abandoned the “4G” mark in the tablet name of the latest model. The official website has already been
fixed , so since May 12, the tablet is officially called the iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular.
The name had to be changed due to numerous complaints from users in different countries. They are unhappy that the iPad Wi-Fi + 4G can not connect to the 4G network. For example, in the UK there is not a single official 4G operator at all, so there were especially many complaints about Apple,
writes ZDNet.
Apple risked being penalized for misleading advertising, so it was better to change the tablet's labeling from 4G to the legally correct Cellular. The change in labeling has taken place not only in the UK, but also in other markets, for uniform branding.
The name change has already been
confirmed in the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, New Zealand, Malaysia, Ireland and Hong Kong. Other countries are likely to follow.

Previous versions of the iPad and iPad 2 remained unchanged in the name: Wi-Fi + 3G.
