Today, there was news that Bitcoinica service was hacked again, while the hackers managed to divert 87 thousand dollars (ie, Bitcoins for this amount). Representatives of the company have already announced that all losses will be reimbursed to users. Everything seems to be good, but again the question arises about the degree of protection of services working with Bitcoin.
It is worth noting that Bitcoinica has been cracked for the second time in 10 weeks. In March of this year, hackers took away about 210 thousand dollars, and, if you remember, last year, in June, one of the users of the service lost
25 thousand bitcoins (in the equivalent of several hundred thousand dollars, at that time).

Now, in addition to the abduction of bitcoins, the attackers gained access to user names, their private information, as well as passwords. All this, of course, is not a very cheerful prospect for Bitcoinica users. The positive news is that identification of stolen user names is impossible - this information is stored on a separate service that has not been hacked.
After the March hacking programmer from Bitcoin, Gavin Andresen, promised to strengthen the security of the Bitcoin network, adding a multi-level protection of ongoing transactions. Such a system assumes the presence of one of two private encryption keys for the system wallets, the keys required for conducting transactions. The second key is contained on a separate machine, in a different place. As we see, whatever was undertaken, the effect did not take effect. Andresen has not yet commented on what happened. In general, if you are dealing with bitcoins, it is worth being careful. I would like to hope that there will be no hacking such as this, but hope is something weak.
