On Habré published two dozen topics with the tag "
patent wars ", and the lion's share of them describe the local episodes of the epic battle of Samsung and Apple.
German patent law expert Florian Mueller counted in his blog the lawsuits that are currently being tried - and found
more than 50 lawsuits in 10 countries : USA, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, South Korea , Japan and Australia.
In addition to the lawsuits mentioned above, the European Commission separately deals with Samsung and Apple. It is unlikely in the history there are examples of such a large-scale patent battle of two corporations. Moreover, the list is probably not complete. It contains only those claims that could be found. All of them were registered between April 2011 (when the patent war was unleashed) and April 25, 2012. The real number of lawsuits, according to Muller, may be closer to a hundred.
On May 21-22, Samsung and Apple will meet in San Francisco and hold talks on reconciliation. At the request of the California court, the main lawyers and the executive directors of the two companies should participate in the negotiations. Two sessions of negotiations will begin every day at 9:30 am.

Florian Muller notes: given the scale of the unfolding battle, it will be very difficult for them to reach agreement. Although Tim Cook formally
spoke for reconciliation , he also mentioned Apple’s “innovation activity”, which Samsung largely denies. So the deep-seated conflict between the two largest manufacturers of smartphones and tablets in the world remains unsolved: did Apple really "invent" the iPad and the iPhone, or simply put into practice the
successful ideas that existed before ?
