Earlier, the corporation spent about 100 million dollars for these purposes. Now another $ 200 million will be spent on marketing - after all, new channels are good, but new users are also needed.
In order to attract new users, various kinds of advertising of new channels will be displayed, both on YouTube and the entire Google Display Network. By the way, the other day the corporation announced the signing of contracts with new celebrities, musical groups and individual performers. In order to make it easier for users to find the most interesting and relevant content for them, the developers will create a special guide / search engine.

It is worth recalling that the service management announced its plans to turn YouTube’s video hosting service from a collection of videos with cats and children into a service with high-quality and diverse video content back in October. Since then, a lot of work has been done, dozens of new channels with premium content have been opened, the video editor has been changed and improved, agreements with celebrities have been signed. True, not all channels (out of hundreds planned), but a little more than 50, are now launched.
Now YouTube plans to continue to invest in the development of its video hosting. For example, the rights to use various kinds of video content from film companies and television channels will soon be acquired. As a result, YouTube management hopes to significantly change both the content of the service and the attitude of users to the service itself.
