Self-organization with Evernote

Our user Gani Sultanov (aka @Moriarty Lecter ) wrote an interesting mini-book “How to feed an elephant, or the first steps to self-realization with Evernote” . It is dedicated to the case management system and information gathering using our service.

The book will be especially interesting to those who have long been eyeing the method of improving personal efficiency GTD (Getting Things Done), but still can not undertake to implement it in practice. However, if you have never heard of GTD, but want to use Evernote effectively to be more productive in work, study, business and private life, this book may also be useful to you and become a starting point for working with the methodology.

The author describes in sufficient detail and clearly the preparatory steps and the process of creating the initial structure of notebooks and tags, which should in the future become the main one for the new system. The book provides an example of such a structure from the author himself, who took something from the “classic” GTD, and adapted something for his own convenience, but the proposed system is flexible enough for you to modify it to suit your needs. The book describes in detail and provides examples of the stages of adding, processing and reviewing cases and information in Evernote.

In addition to the author's own methodology, the book includes translations of the description of two other case management systems - from Darren Crawford and Bobby Travis. It is possible that their approach will seem to someone more appropriate than the author’s own system.

Perhaps, the system of business management proposed by the author will seem too simple for those who have long and seriously been engaged in the issues of personal effectiveness and time management. At the same time, for most people who need only to put their own business and life in order and bring it to the end, it can be a great help. The author emphasizes the fact that creating and working with a case management system should not take a lot of time and effort.
