Hi, Habr!
I'll tell you a story about a purchase with eBay.
I was asked to change the matrix on a Toshiba laptop (Dada,
again , only on a different and older model).
The matrix was found on eBay, won the
auction .
Sending only by state. It was decided to use the services of an intermediary.
')
A month later, the cherished matrix was in my hands.
I disassembled the laptop and it became clear: the matrix does not fit in size. Googled that for the same A660 there are screens like 15.6 and 16.
In the description, the seller writes:
This screen is 100% compatible with Toshiba Satellite A660-BT2G2
However, as it turned out, A660-BT2G2 come in two sizes. The title indicated 15.6 ". But if a specific model is written, who will measure the diagonal with a ruler, right?
Accordingly, the seller refused to help me. He offered to resell the matrix, just as he did - he also made a mistake buying it. A dispute was opened, eBay was on my side, said to return the matrix and get the money.
And, here the most interesting,
eBay sent me a link to the
UPS site where the coveted Shipping Label was located.
And, I had absolutely no idea what to do with it. And instead of my name and address there was the name of another person and the address of the mediator in the states :)
And on eBay, in the meantime, the track number of this Shipping Label and waiting for delivery flaunted in the meantime (Roissy could not send by mail, hehe). I was sure that there was no UPS in Russia. I didn’t want to spend money on sending the matrix with any kind of delivery service.
The
question was asked on Habré.
Many thanks to
Antelle for pushing me to the
link to the UPS site, where their address in my city was located.
I went there. The girls smiled sweetly at me and said that of course they work with the Shipping Label. And no problem, that the return address is there shtatovskiy. I was given to fill in a bunch of pieces of paper (really a bunch, a declaration, invoices, etc., many copies). Asked to pack the screen. I didn’t have a passport with me. He asked if it could be scanned by e-mail. And, lo and behold, of course you can. I wanted to immediately, from the phone, said take your time, you can during the day.
What did you do with the wrong return address? Yes, everything is simple, printed out on the printer "patch" with my data and pasted on top.
Matrix sent.
Track number "came to life":
Delivery Ufa — Jacksonville (Florida) took 6 (
six! ) Days.
And on April 25th, the refund was already on my map.
Here is the Shipping Label (with the patch;):
Total:
UPS Shipping Labels is just a wonderful thing and it works in Russia.
For the delivery of the matrix did not pay a penny, I received a refund.
Once again,
many thanks to
Antelle !
