In the already quite numerous shelf of cloud storages, one more day another participant will appear - LG. Despite the fact that this market is already pretty well occupied by competitors like DropBox and the recently appeared Google Drive, the South Korean company also decided to try their luck.
On May 1, a beta version of cloud storage with the straightforward name LG Cloud will be presented, which, like all competitors, will offer file access and synchronization from the desktop client, the mobile client for Android (there is no speech about iOS version yet) and Smart TV- tv company. As a special feature of the LG Cloud is called support for 3D photos and videos, which is important for the owners of LG 3D Optimus; The second competitive advantage will be LG's Real-time Streaming Transcoding function, which will transcode audio and video content into a format suitable for the device that the user uses.
So far there are no specific details regarding the future storage capacity for all - in any case, it can be assumed that it is hardly advisable to give the user a volume of less than 5 GB for a new market player. It is also said that the tariff plans for using a larger file space than will be provided for in the free version will differ for different countries in order to more flexibly meet the needs of users. So for South Korean users, it will be offered exactly 5 GB, and when you buy a smartphone or smart TV from LG, they will receive a free bonus of 50 GB for six months.
