Krasnodar became the first of those cities in Russia in which the LTE network changed the previous WiMAX network

In the yota_russia community in LiveJournal, the announcement that the introduction of LTE instead of WiMAX took place in Krasnodar was published yesterday (from under the official account of Yota); Thus, this particular city (and not Moscow, for example) turned out to be the first such city in Russia, in which the transition from WiMAX to LTE was completed.

This is not difficult to explain by the fact that there are fewer base stations - and this is why it was faster to retool them than in Moscow.

At the Krasnodar forum Kuban.Ru yesterday's inclusion was accompanied by user comments in that forum topic. From the comments it can be judged that the transition to LTE brought primarily a noticeable decrease in ping; as for the increase in speed, not all of them turned out to be noticeable and uniform. Someone has a speed of only a few megabits per second, others have more than a dozen; there are users whose conditions have deteriorated. Several people complain about the strong heating of wireless modems and the reduction in the speed of torrent file sharing.
