Intel will try its hand at HDTV

An event called the Intel Developer Forum continues to receive news regarding Intel’s plans. I have already talked about the company 's desire to release special server flash drives , as well as about its participation in the development of the USB 3.0 bus . Now we are going to talk about high definition television.

According to representatives of the company, Intel intends to make some "unexpected steps towards the creation of chips for consumer electronics," in order to strengthen its position in the relevant market. Apparently, these "steps" are directly related to the SoC-system, known under the code name Canmore. This “system on a chip” will be used in HDTV devices. In addition, Intel will certainly bet on the Silverthorne processor, designed for portable devices.

By the way, Intel has already tried its hand in this direction, but it has not achieved very noticeable success. However, some analysts tend to believe that this time the company really will give heat. We'll see.
